Governance – Effective Governance Monitoring

Training Overview:

With so much responsibility placed on a voluntary role, how do you maximize the benefits of the time you spend in school? How do you develop a clear picture of the impact of leaders’ actions? How do you support the work of your headteacher while strengthening middle leadership? This course sets out to provide solutions to these questions. Using the Wonder Learning Trust governance monitoring approach as a model, this course will lead governors through an approach to effective monitoring.

Training Aims

1. To equip governors with the skills and knowledge they need to monitor and support the work of the school.
2. To provide a suggested model for governor monitoring that can be adapted or adopted for their own school circumstance.

Intended Audience:

Governors of all schools (secondary and primary) where governors or leaders feel monitoring procedures should be reviewed.
