Your Future
Leadership Events Programme

In this session we will share the approach we have taken to planning and sequencing knowledge and skills across the foundation and core curriculum at primary. We’ll also demonstrate how assessment has been used to create visual and engaging data sheets – designed with teachers’ needs at heart – to ensure planning is impactful and effective for all subjects.
The key focus in the session will be to show how this work presents an exciting opportunity to upskill and develop subject leaders. Your subject leader is likely to be the main focus for inspectors in deep dives (they will guide visitors through the curriculum and its vision) but this aside, developing subject leaders builds capacity for senior leaders and ensures that a culture of excellent teaching is embedded at all levels.

Sharing our Recent Ofsted Experience – Wednesday 29th March 2023 with Chris Pearce and Kelly Foxton
Chris Pearce – Director of the Institute of Education
As an experienced primary headteacher, Chris has held three highly successful headteacher posts. Each headship has bought very different challenges and opportunities. He has secured proven, rapid improvement in all the schools he has led resulting in a ‘good’ Ofsted judgement after joining two schools in a position of historically weak educational outcomes and increased vulnerability. Chris has detailed insight into Ofsted’s inspection practice and pedagogy across a wide range of different settings with significant inspection experience across a wide remit.

Kelly Foxton – Headteacher
Kelly has successfully led different schools and has recently undergone an Ofsted inspection. She brings an invaluable insight into the inspection process along with the experience of school improvement resulting in her last primary school being ranked in the top 5% for reading.
