Leading Teacher Development Part 2: Identifying how to support teachers to avoid the ‘knowing doing gap’ (EEF) - OPEN FOR BOOKINGS

Training Overview:

In the second part of this three-part course, we considered how we can support teachers of all levels to effectively transfer what they have learned into their teaching practice. The ‘knowing doing gap’ can appear after delivering professional development, where teachers have acquired the knowledge but are not sure how to implement what they have learned.

The Wonder Learning Partnership has developed a unique approach to the Key Stage 3 English curriculum. Driving Primary Subject Improvement Through Data – the Kingfisher Model

At Wonder we have named our data and monitoring systems “Kingfisher” as we have been inspired by the habits of this remarkable bird: the system helps educators dive into the data, retrieve key developmental areas, and support targeted pupils.  Using Kingfisher, schools can identify which pupils are making the least/most progress, access progress scores for Year 6, track and explore attainment/ assessment information from Early Years to Year 6, and gain insights into areas of reading/mathematics that students need to work on.   Kingfisher also provides an automated governor report, streamlining the reporting process.
