Pupils and students at Longcroft School and Sixth Form College in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire celebrated after receiving another set of excellent results. This year’s achievements reflect the impressive progression the school has made over the past three years, previously recognised as one of the most improved nationally.
David Perry, Headteacher of Longcroft School says, “We are so proud of all our pupils who today have seen their hard work and determination pay off, bucking many of the national trends which have been widely reported. We must not underestimate how challenging the secondary educational experience has been for these young people, nor the significant shadow cast by the Covid pandemic. They have shown tremendous courage, character and fortitude.”
The school is supported by the Wonder Learning Partnership, multi-school trust, and has been benefitting from the trust’s focused guidance and support.
Woldgate School and Sixth Form was equally delighted and proud to announce another exceptional set of results for our pupils and students this year, which are significantly above national outcomes and a significant increase on our summer 2019 GCSE results.
Headteacher Luke Sloman said ‘Our pupils and students have been incredibly hard working and determined, and we have been so impressed with their dedication and commitment over the last few years as they worked towards their exams. On behalf of our pupils and parents, I would like to thank my colleagues at Woldgate School, who have supported our Year 11 pupils throughout and helped them to achieve these results. By working together as a school community within the Wonder Learning Partnership, our parents, teachers and support colleagues have ensured that our students have achieved the very best outcomes.’
