I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a child myself. I love learning and I love how children learn. I knew I wanted to go into primary teaching after spending several years teaching dance and gymnastics, and when I started to look for courses it was slightly overwhelming to see the sheer amount available.
I chose to apply for Wonder initially because I loved the ethos. I loved the idea of all children in all WLP schools being encouraged to be the best version of themselves and were empowered to learn.
Being an ITE with Wonder has been fantastically enriching. Being able to access a massive variety of training days, courses and expert input has been crucial in growing my confidence in the classroom.
My highlight so far has been taking part in several reading for pleasure conferences. This is a real area of interest for me and being able to spend time with experts discussing this has been great. The use of STEM conferences has also been extremely helpful. These conferences have been a great way of growing confidence in areas of the curriculum that do not come as naturally to me. Having a rich bank of expert colleagues to call on for advice has been particularly helpful.
I would recommend Wonder 100 times over to anyone looking for a teacher training course that nurtures, empowers and inspires its students.
