Longcroft School and Sixth Form celebrates more fabulous outcomes!
Pupils and staff at Longcroft School and Sixth Form College in Beverley have plenty to celebrate again this year as examination results are released. Over recent years the school has been breaking new ground with pupils achieving some of the best outcomes in the school’s history.
There were exceptional performances in a number of subjects with close to half of all grades in Maths and Sciences at A or A*. Arts and Social Sciences also boasted A* outcomes and across the curriculum the progress pupils have made over the last two years compares favourably with national benchmarks. Many pupils achieved top grades across their range of subjects and there have been numerous inspirational stories of specific achievement along with the exciting next steps they are now leading to.
This year the school celebrated the best attendance of any secondary school in the East Riding of Yorkshire and the impact of young people being regularly in school and receiving a high-quality educational experience is reflected in the success being enjoyed. Longcroft School is now placed well above national comparisons across a range of measures including attendance and outcomes.
David Perry, Headteacher of Longcroft School, says, “I’m grateful to the staff and parents who have worked hard to support our students through the significant demands of post 16 study. We are incredibly proud of our young people and remain focused on ensuring they recognise and realise their extraordinary potential and have the belief and confidence to succeed in a complex and rapidly evolving world.”
