Kirsten Russell Trust in a team of seasoned teaching professionals

Kirsten is an experienced educational professional with over 20 years’ experience working across different educational settings, with prior experience in middle and senior leadership. Kirsten has an outstanding record in developing people by leading on exciting and engaging activities, events and training. Kirsten has been instrumental in ensuring that the Trust schools have direct access to local CPD opportunities by working with Vantage Teaching School, resulting in her leading on the delivering of NPQs and the Early Careers Teacher Entitlement for Trust colleagues, in their local area.

Kirsten’s work with the Department of Education for the last seven years has resulting in the Wonder Learning Partnership leading on the Get Into Teaching Internship across multiple secondary schools and as an ITT Lead partner with Leeds Beckett University and now with York St John University. Kirsten’s role includes leading and quality assuring the teacher training arm of the Wonder Institute of Education.

Kirsten currently leads on Early Careers teaching providing both strategic and operational leadership across Initial Teacher Education, Early Careers Teachers, Internships, Apprenticeships and career development. As a Lead ITT Partner Kirsten also works closely with other Lead Partners and York St John university on strategic planning, recruitment and marketing events and actively disseminates and share additional CPD opportunities providing by York St John, and other educational organisation, with Trust schools and colleagues.

Kirsten also leads on professional development and training initiatives across the Trust and supports colleagues developing Trust wide policies and frameworks by collaborating with them regarding the appropriate training and system changes required, whilst regularly providing detailed training recommendations to headteacher and senior leaders within schools.
