Patrick enjoyed a full military career in the Army and left the service in 2016. During his Army career he saw active service in the first Gulf War in Iraq (1990), the Balkans War (Croatia and Bosnia), Afghanistan in 2002 where he was based in Kabul and Bagram. This was quickly followed by deployment to Iraq again in 2003 during the second Gulf War. He returned to Afghanistan in 2010 and served in Helmand Province with the Airborne Brigade for several months. Patrick has also served on United Nations tours of duty supporting UK interests abroad in Western Sahara and he deployed to Sierra Leone in 2015 to support the UK government tackle the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone.
More recently Patrick worked at the University of Hull for 3 years and latterly DEFRA for 2 years as Chief of Staff in a Policy Directorate based in London. He has experience of managing projects, large teams, leadership, decision making and business planning. Patrick has many interests including walking, sport and learning. Patrick is keen to work with all groups supporting our younger generation to excel in life.
