Impressive Resilience
We are delighted and proud to announce another great set of results for our Year 11 pupils this year, which are once again above national outcomes.
Ilda Atkinson, Head of Upper School, said ‘We are very proud of the achievements of all our pupils, and the results today reflect the hard work that they have demonstrated throughout their journey at Woldgate School over the last five years, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of our school values is of ‘Great Character’ and our pupils most certainly demonstrated this with the resilience they have shown over the years, and the dedication and enthusiasm they have brought to their studies. We wish all of our pupils the very best for the future and we look forwarding to welcoming the majority of our pupils back within the Sixth Form in September’.
Headteacher Luke Sloman said ‘Our Year 11 pupils have worked so hard and shown so much determination, and we have been impressed with their dedication and commitment over the last few years and months as they prepared for their exams. On behalf of our pupils and parents, I would like to thank my colleagues at Woldgate School, who have supported our Year 11 pupils throughout and helped them to achieve these results. By working together as a school community within the Wonder Learning Partnership, our parents, teachers and support colleagues have ensured that our students have achieved the very best outcomes.’
Janek said ‘I am really pleased with my results, and I am looking forward to coming back to Woldgate School Sixth Form in September.’
Finn said ‘I have done really well, and I have got the grades I need to study at the Creative and Performing Arts College (CAPA).
Throughout the morning, pupils celebrated their results with their friends, parents, families and staff. Many of our pupils achieved exceptional outcomes, such as Evie Lusby who achieved eight Grade 9s and Oliver Peacock, who achieved four Grade 9s and four Grade 8s. We are exceptionally proud of Lili Denham as she has completed her GCSEs alongside recovering from brain surgery and radiotherapy.
A majority of Year 11 pupils go on to study at Woldgate Sixth Form. Pupils study a range of A Level and Applied courses and continue to receive outstanding academic and pastoral support from their teachers and our Care & Achievement Team. Woldgate School Sixth Form does welcome applications from Year 11 pupils from other schools, so please do contact our Head of Sixth Form, Miss Smith, on ksmith@woldgate.net or 01759 302395 if you would like further information. We would like to wish all of our pupils the very best for the future, and we know you will all go onto achieve great things in the years ahead.
