Are you an experienced and highly organised professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a school setting? Melbourne Primary School is seeking a dedicated People and Estates Lead to oversee and manage key operational functions, including personnel, estates, health and safety, and finance.

About the Role

As People and Estates Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day administrative and operational tasks. You will work closely with the Headteacher and Trust Business Support teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and to support the wellbeing and effectiveness of staff and the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage recruitment, induction, and statutory training for staff and governors.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with safer recruitment practices.
  • Oversee finance processes including purchase orders, income banking, and budget support.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, drills, and training.
  • Manage site staff and coordinate estates maintenance and audits.
  • Maintain and update the EVERY Management System for property and compliance matters.
  • Support census submissions and general administrative duties.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone with:

  • 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths)
  • Proven experience in staff management, recruitment, and operational leadership
  • Strong ICT skills and familiarity with management information systems
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Experience in a school or similar environment and knowledge of SIMS or other school systems is desirable.
